Nosso sócio-diretor, Roberto Caldas, ministrou aula no curso de Pós-Doutorado em Direito Público da ULPGC – Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Espanha), no último dia 25 de janeiro.
O tema da aula foi “Direitos Humanos e Democracia na América”. Na ocasião, foram expostos e debatidos temas como o papel institucional da Corte Interamericana de Direitos Humanos – Corte IDH, a relação entre democracia, justiça, imprensa e Direitos Humanos em vários países da América.
Discorreu sobre a aplicação da Carta Democrática Interamericana a respeito dos atos de terrorismo e tentativa de golpe de Estado ocorridos em 8 de janeiro em Brasília e a necessidade de punição exemplar para todos os golpistas por ação ou omissão, sejam partícipes diretos, organizadores ou financiadores, civis e militares.
Ressaltou a importância da punição dos agentes do Estado, militares e civis, praticantes de crimes graves contra Direitos Humanos ou crimes de lesa-humanidade durante a ditadura de 1964-1985, pois tais crimes não prescrevem, como decidiu a Corte IDH no Caso Gomes Lund e outros (Guerrilha do Araguaia).
